Call for papers

We welcome communication proposals from PhD students whose research covers the following topics:

  • English-speaking environments and specialist fields;
  • Discourse analysis, specialist genres, professional fiction;
  • Didactics and the LANSAD (Languages for Students Specializing in Other Disciplines) sector;
  • Specialised corpora and corpus linguistics;
  • Translation studies in English for Specific Purposes (ESP);
  • History and epistemology of research in English for Specific Purposes (ESP).

This workshop offers Ph.D. students the possibility to present and discuss, receive feedback, and exchange comments and views on their doctoral research by an attentive audience of pairs and researchers, including their PhD supervisors.

Each presentation lasts for 20 minutes and is followed by a Q&A session.

The questions can cover practical or methodological aspects of the research undertaken, as well as those related to scientific publication or in anticipation of a PhD defence.

  • Year of enrolement in PhD
  • Name of your research lab
  • Name(s) of your PhD supervisor(s) and whether they plan(s) to attend the doctoral meetings (yes/no/not sure yet) 
  • Title of your thesis
  • Title and abstract of your communication (200-300 words)

Only complete submissions will be considered by the organising committee.

Submit before: 31 December 2023 on the website.
Notification of acceptance: 22 January 2024 at the latest.
